A method of education developed over 100 years ago by Italian physician Maria Montessori. This child-centered educational approach is based on the scientific observation of children and used in many parts of the world. The Montessori Method views the child as the one who is naturally eager for knowledge and capable of initiating learning in a supportive, thoughtfully prepared learning environment. It attempts to develop children physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively.

Stepping Stones offers a uniquely designed learning environment for all of our students. Our space is a supportive community of students and guides that respect children as unique individuals. Our community is designed to correspond to students’ developmental characteristics, interest, and abilities. Stepping Stones starts with the premise that children naturally want to learn, they learn in many different ways, and at their own pace. Learning is focused on experience, investigation, and research through active engagement, not rote drill and memorization. We are only 15 minutes from Park City!
